about me
per italiani

I keep active through various sports,  love to blog and write, travel with curiosity, read lots of good books and see lots of good cinema.  I also enjoy watching my dwarf rabbit sniff the wind from his favorite spot under the lemon tree on our terrace overlooking the city of Rome.

Things you should know about me:

Curiosity drives my life, lifestyle and coaching. It keeps me committed to uncovering your potential and seeing it translate into positive change.

Coaching satisfies my natural attraction to patterns and connections.  Be prepared to be surprised at the insights that come forth.

I give genuine, down-to-earth feedback and I am quite practical and firm when the time comes to analyze options, establish the real goal, build systems and structures, design a plan and work it step by step. I will help you experiment, reflect and adjust over and over to keep you on your course.

I believe that a light approach helps us take more risks.  A question I might ask is, “what is the worst that could happen”. The answer usually comes with a smile. We can respect, accept and move beyond the fears that hold us back – with lightness – and make the difference we want to make in our lives, our work and the world.

My story:

Originally from New England (USA), I went to Rome, Italy for a year after college and experienced culture shock.  I stayed on another six months and never left.  Most cross-cultural trainers, consultants and coaches work from their home country after an expat experience, or several.  While I have traveled extensively, I continue to live an intercultural life and love to share my balance and unfailing curiosity with clients.

My background and credentials:

* Certified Professional Coach from the International Coach Academy (ICA),
* Masters of Science in Management (M.S.M.) from Boston University (USA),
* Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English and Economics from Williams College (USA),
* Training as a cross-cultural trainer at the Interchange Institute (Boston, USA),
* Certification to administer the Polaris Global Leadership Competency Model and 360° Assessment Survey for Global leaders,
 * “Training of Trainers” certification for the virtual classroom (through the International Coach Academy),
 * Member of the Society of Intercultural Education Training and Research (SIETAR),
*  Member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Before coaching and training:

I worked for a global cultural exchange organization (as Director for Italy), several international development organizations (in the area of grants management) and international educational institutions (both as a professor and consultant).

"I love to compare, contrast and find connections that lead to insights into the dynamics of global living – so much that I couldn’t resist starting a blog with vignettes, curious observations, the odd resource and lots of questions." (see blog)

"My passion for helping people successfully cross cultures and develop cultural intelligence in the process has led me to coach, train, speak and conduct orientations for companies, organizations, associations, conferences and study abroad centers; and write on cross-cultural topics for online and print publications." (see blog)

"My third-culture children raised in Italy have made me more aware of my cultural bias and more flexible in accepting alternative ways of thinking and being."
